Middle Bay Homes’ parent company is on the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2023 list of the 200 largest private companies in Tampa Bay. The name on the list is Building Easier® Construction Group, the Tampa-based company Middle Bay is part of. The Business Journal published the 2023 Tampa Bay 200 on August 28, 2023. Middle Bay Homes isn’t listed on its own. But the list says something about the company behind your builder, and that’s worth a few words.
What the list measures
In June, Middle Bay’s parent company made the Business Journal’s Fast 50 for the second year running. The Fast 50 is a growth list. This one asks a different question. It ranks Tampa Bay’s private companies by size. The Fast 50 is about pace. The Tampa Bay 200 is about scale.
As with the Fast 50, there’s no rank or revenue figure in this post. We don’t have a number here we can verify, so we’re not going to print one. Being on the list is the part we can stand behind.
What it means if you’re building with Middle Bay
Size doesn’t make a builder good. A small shop can build a beautiful house, and a big one can build a bad one. What scale does speak to, a little, is staying power.
A custom home is a long relationship. You work with your builder through design, permitting and construction, and you rely on them after move-in when something needs a second look under warranty. A builder with the footing to stay in business is part of what makes that warranty worth the paper it’s printed on. A list like this is an outside measure of that footing. It isn’t the only one, and it isn’t a guarantee.
Scale also doesn’t change who answers for the work. Both founders put their names and licenses on every Middle Bay build: Cory Frier as the qualifier, and Will Daniel on Florida residential contractor license CRC1332115. A bigger parent company doesn’t change whose names those are.
